The premise of
the AEGIS program is that many risks to children are based on behavioral
choices over which they can exercise control, and that these choices are a
function of what they are committed to, what they value, how they see their
future, and their determination to adhere to those commitments and values
even under pressure from peers and others.
AEGIS is a
prevention program designed to start at an early age, to help address the
variety of problems faced by our society. One key component of
creating a more healthy, peaceful, productive, and compassionate society is
promoting basic and universal ethical standards that produce successful
communities.
